Wollongong Wolves Football Club is delighted to announce the new signing of former Sydney FC and Western Sydney Wanderers goalkeeper Vedran Janjetovic for the 2024 NPL season.

With last year’s goalkeepers Tomas Butkovic moving to the United States to attend college and Nenad Vekic departing to explore other opportunities, it was critical that the club cast a wide net to find an experienced goalkeeper to martial the defence.

Janjetovic, a 36-year-old goalkeeper, joins the Wolves after recovering from a shoulder injury which ended his A-League career. He has worked extremely hard to return to full fitness and will now become a huge asset for the club in 2024.

Janjetovic was excited to be joining the Wolves and was keen to return to elite football “I am really excited to be joining a club with so much history and a club which has high aspirations. I really want to pass on my experience and help the club achieve some great things” Janjetovic said.

Coach David Carney said he was extremely happy to secure the services of an experienced player to fill a key position for the side. “It is massive for the club to be able to secure the services of Vedran. He played in the A-League for many years and was one of the best keepers in the league. His experience and presence will help the squad, particularly the young players” Carney said.
