Wollongong Wolves Re-Sign Defender Banri Kanaizumi

The Wollongong Wolves Football Club is thrilled to announce the re-signing of defender Banri Kanaizumi for the 2025 season. A dependable presence in the backline, Banri also showcased his attacking threat last season, scoring five goals in the first 14 games.

First grade coach Warren Grieve emphasized the significance of Banri’s return, stating:

“Having watched Banri last year, it was very important for us to get him back for the 2025 season. His experience and leadership skills are only part of his overall game. Defensively, he’s very strong and technically sound, and he’ll also provide excellent options from dead-ball situations.”

Banri shared his enthusiasm about rejoining the squad, saying:

“I am so glad to be back at this club for another season. It’s going to be a tough one now that we play through the NPL as well as the NST in 2025, but I’m really looking forward to making history with the new coach, Warren, and this team.”
